For once, everything went fine with our outward plane journey. We didn't miss any flights due to delays at the airport and all of our baggage arrived with us. I have a new lucky travel T-shirt, and it seems to be working. I think the old one ran out of luck.
It was an early start. We had to leave the house about 4.30 am, but the journey to Gatwick was fine, as was the journey to Tampa. The only downside was that Sarah realised as we arrived in Tampa that our return flight had been changed so that we flew into Gatwick and out of Heathrow. They'd changed it back in December and had apparently sent us an email but we weren't aware. Sarah had to make multiple phone calls during the holiday to sort out our return journey.
Michael and Emma are great at travelling on aeroplanes. They just watch stuff, read or sleep. There wasn't a lot of films for them to watch on the flight out; I think Michael watched Ant Man and the Wasp twice! We got to sit roughly together which was nice.
We picked whichever car in our class had the biggest boot and set off. We had our phones and a phone holder so had no issues finding the house, which was lovely. We were very tired when we arrived late on Saturday evening, but that helped us adjust to the new timezone.
