sarah's made parole from heatherwood hospital, and we've been unleashed on binfied! the endless cycle of tired-phone sarah-sleep-wake-phone sarah-don't eat-drive-park-buzzer-sarah/baby-still don't eat-talk/play with baby/read a bit-even more not eating-abuse visiting hours-say goodbye-drive-tired has finally finished. the midwives almost without exception were excellent at the hospital, and were incredibly accomodating of us.

this is kirsten, who was living with us up until the baby was born. it was really nice to have her come by to play with the baby, but i would like to point out that my son smelled like perfume afterwards..........and that kirsten stole my toothbrush when she moved out. sorry, but i still can't let that go.

this is matthew. he had a psychology exam today, and popped by on the way home to see how we were doing. he was slightly uncomfortable with holding the baby at first, but soon got the hang of it.

getting home last night with sarah was great. there was a huge thing of flowers from her work, which didn't make me feel bad at all about the minuscule arrangement i'd ordered a couple of days before.

michael came out of the blue yesterday. sarah had mentioned it a while ago (along with a lot of other names), but I thought about it on tuesday night, and it seemed to fit our baby's face and hair. i ran it by sarah in the morning, and she agreed. we were happy with adam as the middle name, as it's sarah's maiden name. we only later noticed that it's got the same rhythm as both of our names (mart-in al-an black, sa-rah lou-ise black), and also has the same initials as me. also, mormons may notice the adam/michael thing. we only noticed that afterwards, and promise that it's a coincidence. if we call son #2 Gabriel Noah then you'll know we've having you on.

i'd like to point out that in the previous post, sarah says that we are using a nipple shield. that's a mistake, as it's only her that's feeding the baby.
