We drove down to Bracknell on Wednesday, and made really good time getting there. Michael was so good that we only really needed to stop once.

We went to Pizza Hut with Oli, Lou, Rhiannon and John that night, and coincidentally bumped into Kirsten outside the cinema. She was good enough to help me out a little with one of Michael's favourite things - escalators! He must have gone up and down those escalators about 20 times, and still wanted to keep using them when I eventually had enough.

We were staying with Oli and Lou, and went into London on Thursday.

On Friday, I went to my old work (3M) golf day and played terribly, and Sarah went to soft play with Michael with Roz Snow and her son and Pam Taylor. From what Sarah reports, Michael was a bit of a terror at the soft play, and was very possessive of a big red bus that was there, and would try and hit the other kids if they came too close. Mmmmmmm, we'll need to sort that out.
By the time I got back to John and Rhiannon's following the golf day, Michael had fallen asleep. He didn't nap too well when we were down south, and I think that affected his temperament.

Saturday was Alix and (a different) Michael's wedding. Michael was as good as gold for the service. It was good to see Johnny and Alix from Sarah's old work. Luckily they were both on their best behaviour, and Michael and I were spared a 3 hour diatribe on the horrors of working at Longservice.com. Having been so good at the wedding, Michael was a bit disruptive at the Wedding. I ended up going on an extended tour of Northcote House. When it came time to change his nappy (luckily someone at the wedding had a spare, as we'd ran out) he got really distracted by the tap in the babychange area. Sarah was quite happy to let him play with it, but after about 10 minutes realised that he wasn't going to get bored playing with it, and a very soggy Michael made his way back to me eventually. What impressed me was that wherever we were in that big house for the rest of the day, Michael always seemed to know how to get himself back to that tap.

On Sunday, we got to go to church in Bracknell, and see loads of people that we hadn't seen in a while. They were all quite excited to see Michael, who they hadn't seen since he was about 5 months old. Needless to say he's grown a lot since then, as have many of them! We went back to Oli and Lou's for a delicious Sunday roast followed by a walk around a pond in Crowthorne. John and Oli were particularly excited to play with Michael's building blocks, and developed an impromptu version of Jenga using them. Somewhat out of character, Michael didn't destroy anything that got higher than 3 storeys high.

On Monday it was already time to get going back up the road. We stopped by to visit Esther Kelsey in Wolverhampton on the way up the road. She's got two lovely daughters - Isla and Rhianna. The two girls were good enough to let Michael play on their trampoline, but the hot topic of the day was what belonged to who and who was getting to play with it. There were a few disagreements regarding who was getting to play with what, and many tears. At the same time though, it was lovely to see them playing together.
