edinburgh the queen

michael's been settling in quite nicely to edinburgh. he's spending most of the day with sarah either in the flat or going for walks in the centre of edinburgh. sarah even took him to the cinema for the first time on thursday (i'm jealous), and apparently he totally loved it.

sarah's dad is an msp, and the opening of the scottish parliament was last week. sarah and i popped down to have a nosey at what was going on. michael got to hear bagpipes for the first time, and he looked pretty scared!

As part of the celebrations, sarah's mum and dad got to meet the queen and the duke of edinburgh. sarah's mum said it was a bizarre experience. they just turned around a corner in holyrood palace, and there was the queen. they had a quick chat (the duke of edinburgh asked sarah's mum if she'd been out riding. she thought it was some reference to her jacket or some crazy remark, but it turns out that's what the procession of msps and others for the parliamentary opening is called). the queen asked what they'd been doing today, and sarah's dad said that they'd been spending some time with their grandson (michael). they had a quick chat about him, then they had to go.

some cameraman also took some stock footage of michael, but we never found out which station it was going out on. if anyone sees him on the tv, let us know.

michael's showing some real progress in terms of moving around. he can roll-over (just like a dog), and hold himself up ready for crawling. he likes his baby bouncer, but strangely likes to stay on his tip toes rather than going on flat feet. sarah hopes that he's going to become a ballerina, but i don't think he's got enough gentleness to do that though.

Sarah,

It is great to see all the fun pictures of baby Michael, he is so adorable!!

Although I must say, what is going on with the last picture posted here? What do these crazy performers have to do with the opening of the Scottish Parliment? :)

Hey Guys,

Can't believe how much the little man is growing up! He looks like he absolutely LOVES the door bouncer. Kayla just used to scream, so we gave up on that one, LOL!!

Glad to see you are all settling in nicely up there again, although we have to admit that the silence from next door is DEAFENING!

Miss you guys!
