We went on a cruise a few weeks ago, and I'm just getting around to documenting it. We had a great time.
We flew Edinburgh to London Heathrow, then Heathrow to Athens. The Edinburgh flight was delayed by about an hour, but it turned out that it was actually the same plane that was flying to Athens. We still had to get off it and check back in, which felt like a colossal waste of time, but everyone soldiered on. Michael and Emma mostly read Tintin and Daisy books on the way out, and all went well despite the delay. I got assistance at Edinburgh, but that turned out to be more bother than it was worth, so didn't bother with it again.
The rest of the Adams were flying Aberdeen via Frankfurt, and had quite a bit of hassle at the airport with their transport, but we met up with Sarah's Auntie Sally at the airport in Athens, and got taken to the hotel in a full size single decker bus for the 5 of us. The driving was pretty scary, but it got us there in one piece and it was good to meet up with everyone.
We stayed in a hotel in Athens, and at Neil's suggestion we ate out at a local cafe, and had some delicious gyros (like kebabs). Neil managed to scare Michael and Emma a little by pointing out that there were some Lambs' heads on the spit in the restaurant - eyeballs and everything!
Emma managed to disturb us in the night by talking in her sleep, but we got to have a delicious breakfast in the morning and got onto the boat with no bother. Sophia and Emma got to sing on the bus using the microphone. I'm not quite sure what the bus driver thought of us all singing 'Popcorn Popping'.
