Michael and Emma had a great time at the swimming pool at Sally and Brian's house. Sally had arranged for an instructor to come and give them some lessons. At first Emma (and Skye) were more than a little reticent to get in the pool with him, but by the end of our time there Emma was bawling and didn't want to say goodbye to Jonathan.

Michael's swimming really impressed me - he's come a long way over the past year since I last saw him swimming. He worked on breathing and also his surface dives. Noah and Caden (Sarah's cousin's children) were both fantastic swimmers. Amazing. Totally fearless in the water.

We quickly learned that lots of adults hanging around watching encourage Emma and Skye to play up and not get in the pool for their lessons. They loved playing a Red Light Green Light game for kicking. Emma got a bit confused with the yellow light given that we call it an amber light. There was also a purple light - I'm not sure what that was for.

Michael and Emma got to try out their skills at a waterpark. Michael especially enjoyed the flumes, but as you can see from the pictures, they both enjoyed the rubber rings. Emma was very excited to tell me on the way back about the rapid river - she loved it.
