Trip to McDonalds for Michael's birthday

What kind of a family has their only two kids birthdays within 6 days of each other. If Michael and Emma had just been born when they were supposed to be born we wouldn't have this issue - but Michael was too eager and Emma too cozy. Anyway, rant over.
Sarah's been flat out arranging everything for the last week.
Michael had a nice birthday at school, and wanted to go to McDonalds for his birthday dinner. I hope he's always so easy to please, and so cheap! He's very excited about being 6. He's recently got a little obsessed about the age guidance on toys, and keeps telling Emma which toys aren't for 0-3 so she shouldn't play with him. He didn't take it too kindly when I told him that the lego video games have a guide age of 7+. He seems quite happy to ignore that.
One special thing of note over the past couple of weeks is that we've all learned how to sing the mandarin "two little tigers" song that auntie Maggie taught Michael. He was doing it as a talent at school, and we all learned it to encourage and support him. He wore his taiwanese jacket to school that day.
Emma's had conjunctivitis over the past week. She's been pretty sleepy and more than a little out-of-sorts. She wasn't very keen to accept the eye drops. That was a bit of a battle.
My family popped over on Emma's birthday. She was excited to see everyone and loved her presents, but for me what was especially nice was that she played with granny for an hour or so with some dentist playdough. She usually doesn't have the concentration for that type of thing, and often gets sucked in by the big noise of granddad.
One of Michael's teeth came out on Saturday evening, and we managed to lose it. Luckily the tooth fairy understood.
