uncle jamie visits

michael's uncle jamie came to visit yesterday, and was good enough to volunteer to bath michael. michael already has a few lists of likes and dislikes, and right at the top of the dislikes is baths.

jamie also did michael's hair afterwards. i think he was going for a morrisey-style quiff. he also made a really nice cassolet for us, which was delicious.

i think that some kind of primitive parent instinct has started to kick in with me. i've started locking the door of the car when michael's in it, just in case one of the doors opens when we go around a corner (you laugh, but ask my dad what happened to me and clair!). We went shopping in reading yesterday, and i felt really agressive towards teenagers making loud noises and people smoking. much as we love michael though, we didn't even offer him a piece of our strawberry cheesecake milkshake from shakeaway.

sarah's bought another book on breastfeeding. it seems that there is something of an art to it after all, and both mother and child are getting better at it.

we couldn't resist dressing up michael for church today in some yellow dungarees and trainers. if only i could get away with such a bold outfit.

He looks gorgeous!

I gave Mel the link and she has had a look and a giggle at your blog too.

I will try to get Mel down mid feb, so we'll drop by then? Hope everything is good and say hello to the 'lil one for me - can't wait to see him at Church again this sunday
