what do you want.........i want the tooth......you can't handle the tooth!

Michael's been busy again over the last couple of weeks. This is him stopping off at Glamis Castle with a visitor from australia (sarah kavanagh). sarah assures me that she told michael that she'd fire the cannon if he misbehaved.

This is michael (and me) in Rosslyn Chapel. i expected to be totally underwhelmed, but it was totally fascinating. i'll need to go again! We saw the death mask of robert the bruce (it's in the stonework, but hidden). we saw loads of green men and the architecture is totally fantastic. i don't know if you've read the da vinci code, but Rosslyn Chapel is at the end (sorry if that spoils it for anyone, but the tom hanks charachter is also a ghost [or is that another film?]). The photo doesn't do it justice, and it's well worth a good visit. Michael managed not to embarass himself there, unlike his mum and her very loud mobile phone.

This is Michael with Lee, Clair, Mark, Angela and Madison on the Cowgate in Edinburgh, about 50 yds down the road from where I lived in my 1st year at Edinburgh Uni. They popped by to edinburgh (after a car boot sale in kinross) and we went to see a comedian at the Fringe. He was really good, and was talking about having a 7 month old kid at home, so we went up with michael afterwards to talk to him and he seemed to appreciate it. Michael's now been to two shows at the Fringe, but he heckled a lot less at this one.

I know! For (Sarah's brother) David's wedding we thought it'd be good to get Michael a kilt. we held back on getting him a sporran, as he would just eat it, and a skeann dhubh would have been right out of the question!

Michael getting fed outside my work on the way up to aberdeen.

Michael seems to like sitting with one leg up in the air, as pictured above.

I always think that michael looks like the rancor keeper from return of the jedi when he has the hood of his towel on.

here's a wee video of him playing with a toy of a swedish monster.

As you can probably tell, michael has been really busy over the last couple of weeks. he's also avidly been taking his mum to the baby cinema, and has also been getting swimming lessons (i got taught to swim by my dad and on one occasion by tristan loughrey!). he's developing a fondness for wires, which i can see being dangerous in the future. he wriggles about a lot more now, and it's become more difficult to change him and bath him. he's still showing signs of teeth coming through, and a lot of him behaviour indicates that the teeth are in the post, but as of yet there's still no sign of the white monsters.

On a more positive side, his mum and dad have finally decided on a house, and hopefully this one will work out. We've kind of stretched ourselves, so if the Bank of England board are paying attention, if they could reduce the base rate of lending that would be great, but it's a lovely house and it should last of for many years (and a couple more michaels - don't get too excited as we've still got 5 months to go before we'll even have that kind of discussion). We understand that it's not all done and dusted yet, but are quite excited about it. it's got a good view of the ochil hills from the kitchen and a couple of the bedrooms.
