Colin (a work colleague of mine from my first job in Bracknell) came all the way from New Zealand when he heard that Michael had started crawling! Luckily, he was able to coincide the trip with a couple of weddings, one of which happened to be his brother's, who had conveniently agreed to host the wedding in Edinburgh just so that Colin could make Michael's acquaintance. That's dedication for you!!
