sportacus

For those that don't know, it was mentioned at Michael's uncle david's wedding that he used to wear his mum's shoes quite a lot. Michael seems to have that gene running in him, as he has a real thing for putting on grown-up's shoes.

Luckily the batteries have finally ran out on that elmo. I was getting ready to perform an exorcism on it as it is pretty demonic - especially when you brush against it by mistake in the middle of the night.

For the uninitiated, Sporticus is one of the main characters in Lazy Town. He's a big advocate of "Sports Candy" (fruit) and is somewhat hyperactive. Before he dashes off he makes a weird arm gesture, and it looks like michael is emulating that when he is running. The bats were a present from Uncle Neil and Auntie Maggie from a baseball game they went to in Japan. Michael has only hit us a few times, and hasn't given us any too serious injuries.

I'm still sick. It seems to be some kind of post-viral fatigue thing. It's been quite difficult for Michael, as we've not been able to take him out as much. That been said, he has helped my find all of the stars in super mario galaxy, and almost all the bits of the daft mirror thing in zelda. Sarah did voice her concern that Michael shouts "He's going to fight!" when the character in zelda whips out his sword, especially when he was fighting a massive spider, but it's still a cute game in my mind.

Michael's had a lot of visitors over the past gew weeks. Lots of family have come by to play with him.

Sarah had a bad experience with Michael when she took him swimming in the new pool in Stirling. She asked him to stay still as she looked at a flyer about the pool. She turned around to look at the flyer, turned back and michael had vanished. Luckily her hunch that he'd ran into the nearby lift was right, and he just went up a floor, one of the staff got in the lift upstairs and then came back to the ground floor. Sarah said he was only gone for a minute, but he could hear her calling for her in the lift. He darted out of the lift as soon as the doors opened, but sarah was pretty concerned for a minute.

One thing I've noticed is that Michael is starting to string sentances together. He still makes statements (e.g. "Apple Juice", "Lunch") but now also makes full statements or even asks questions ("What's that?", "Where's my mummy?", "I need to play in the garden").

He seems to be excited about the new season of big brother. Can't imagine why.....

I can't believe how grown-up he's looking! Of course, I can't believe how grown-up my own kids look either...

Now, how did I know as soon as I saw the "echoes of uncle david" title that it would be a clip of Michael in his mum's shoes?
